MOBILE's library available to the public

The library housed at the Mid-Ohio Board for an Independent Living Environment (MOBILE) is open to the public each business day from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.and Saturdays by appointment.

The library contains approximately 2,000 categories of information, including building code guides, books on accessibility issues and regulations, a wide variety of independent living skills topics such as advocacy and empowerment and much more. A video library is also available for borrowing.

"Our specialized library includes many items not found in the public or university libraries in the area," said MOBILE's Information Coordinator Carl Browman. "We're pleased to offer this extremely good resource to the community." Browman added visitors can photo-copy materials at the MOBILE library free of charge.

Individuals may borrow four items per visit but must return them prior to borrowing additional materials.

MOBILE is the non-profit center for Independent Living serving people with disabilities in Columbus and Franklin County with information and referral, peer support and independent living classes, deaf equipment programs, and home modification
