About MOBILE

The Mid- Ohio Board for an Independent Living Environment (MOBILE) was established by a group of independent living advocates as a Disability Resource Center. Immediately after President George H. Bush signed the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) in 1990 funding became available to establish more Centers for Independent Living throughout the United States.

MOBILE located in central Ohio is one of twelve Centers for Independent Living within the state.   For over forty years, MOBILE worked in partnership with many key stakeholders at the national, state, city and countywide levels.
