MOBILE’s initiative provides crime prevention information, self-protection education, anti-crime classes, and crime fighting empowerment for seniors, people with disabilities and the community at large.
Classes will equip people with disabilities providing individuals with basic computer training. Classes consist of fundamental computer knowledge, internet navigation and setting up email accounts.
Deaf Equipment Program
The program provides strobe smoke detectors, doorbell signalers and other assistive devices to the deaf or hard of hearing community to improve safety and accessibility. The program is for residents of Franklin County, excluding the City of Columbus.
Equipment Loan Program
MOBILE receives donated equipment and assistive devices such as wheel-chairs, walkers and canes to make available on loan to people with disabilities.
MOBILE is a participating partner in the Home Choice Program administered by the Ohio Department of Medicaid. MOBILE's Home Choice Transitional Coordinators will assists individuals with disabilities who are residing in skilled nursing facilities, and other institutions who want to relocate to the community setting of their choice. A Transition Coordinator works with them to provide pre-transition transportation, locate and set up housing, as well as offers continued support to them with Independent Living Skills Training. Our goal is to have individuals regain their ability to make decisions and live independently.

Life Skills / Outreach:
- Ramp Program
A part of HOME Choice, provides ramps at their place of residence to people with disabilities. This program addresses the accessibility needs of the residential market. The ramps extend beyond the scope of a portable ramp and installation is included.
- These classes are MOBILE’s outreach to the Central Ohio community. Classes are presented on various life enhancing skills to retirement communities, libraries, community centers, etc. assisting people in gaining and maintaining their independence.
Our lending library at Mobile is open to the public Monday - Friday from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.
Ohio Benefit Bank
MOBILE is an Ohio Benefit Bank Site assisting people with filing taxes, buying food, accessing medical care, and stretching our household budgets, child care assistance, health coverage, and much more.
Ohio SMP (Senior Medicare Patrol) – Pro Seniors educates older adults through community presentations about healthcare fraud and identity theft to help keep them safe from these crimes.
Each third Thursday of the month, MOBILE coordinates meeting on various topics including, nutrition, finances, health issues, crime prevention, and the list goes on.
